Coastline Insulation – Why You Should Insulate Your Attic

Spray foam insulation is a great home improvement project, especially during the summer when temperatures are highest. But the best part of a properly insulated attic is that it will save you money on energy costs. An ENERGY STAR attic can reduce heating and cooling costs by up to 30%!

Proper attic insulation also improves indoor air quality. Insulation seals air leaks in the attic and helps keep allergens like dust and pollen outside, where they belong. This can help alleviate symptoms for allergy and asthma sufferers. In addition, it is a great way to reduce the number of pollutants in the environment and contribute to sustainable living.

How Coastline Insulation Improves Comfort and Energy Efficiency

There are a variety of insulation options for your attic, including blown-in and batt insulation. Blown-in insulation, a loose-fill insulation that can be applied to open spaces and around obstacles, is available in a range of materials like fiberglass, cellulose (made from recycled paper treated with fire retardants) and mineral wool. It is cost-effective and provides effective thermal performance, while also reducing noise.

Spray foam insulation, which is a two-part liquid that expands into a foam upon curing, is another popular attic insulation option. This insulator creates a tight seal and can be applied to difficult-to-reach spots, making it an ideal choice for attics with limited space. It also offers high R-values, acts as an air barrier and resists moisture. This type of insulation requires professional installation, as it must be handled with special equipment and may emit off-gasses.

Apostille For Affidavits

An apostille for affidavits is a certification from the State Department that confirms that your signature and seal on the document have been properly authenticated by a New York notary public. If your document will be used in a country that is a member of the 1961 Hague Convention, an apostille is required. The apostille is also needed for documents certified by a notary public, such as a power of attorney or other notarized personal document.

An Apostille for Documents to be Used in a Foreign Country

The Hague Convention of 1961 abolished the requirement of legalization for foreign public documents, and standardized the process for obtaining a certificate that will make your document valid in any country that has signed the treaty. In some cases, you may need to have both the original document and the translation of your document apostilled before it will be recognized in the foreign country.

Our office can only authenticate documents that were signed and notarized in New York. If your document was notarized in another state, the apostille must be obtained from that county. Emailed copies of documents are not eligible for a New York apostille. Power of attorneys that are signed and notarized remotely have special requirements for a New York apostille.

When you visit the NDNY to submit your documents for authentication, you will see a banner that says, “Apostille Services are to the right.” Follow the banner until you get to the Notary Desk. After that, you will need to fill out a form that is specific to the number of documents and the country in which the document(s) will be used.

How a Langley Orthodontist Can Help You Achieve a Healthier Smile

If you have crooked teeth or a misaligned bite, orthodontic treatment can help you achieve a healthier and more attractive smile. Straighter teeth are easier to clean, less prone to chipping and uneven wear and tear and can prevent gum disease and tooth loss.

Langley Orthodontist corrected teeth are also easier to speak and eat with, help maintain proper oral hygiene and may prevent the need for future dental treatments such as restorations or implants. In addition, orthodontics can improve facial balance, help correct jaw area irregularities that can cause problems with chewing and speaking and boost self-esteem.

Before commencing orthodontics, patients should understand what the treatment entails and their options. During an initial consultation with a Langley Orthodontist, a visual examination of the patient’s teeth and face is performed to identify a dental discrepancy (called a malocclusion). The orthodontist will then conduct a full set of diagnostic tests including X-rays and study models to pinpoint the nature of the problem.

After diagnosis, the orthodontist will recommend a treatment plan and the best course of action for correction. Treatment typically includes fixed braces, which consist of a metal or ceramic dental base that is affixed to each tooth, with a metal wire which is periodically adjusted to train the teeth into alignment. Lingual braces, which are fitted to the back side of the teeth and are invisible from the front, are another option for those who want a less-obtrusive orthodontic treatment. Alternatively, clear aligners such as Invisalign are available for those who do not want to wear traditional braces.

Another great tip is to vacuum frequently. Ideally, it should be done once a week per household occupant—including pets.
