When I was first planning a Las Vegas trip, I came across several attractions that I considered the best things to do in Henderson NV. It turns out that the best things to do in Henderson are often not the things that you might think about the most. Of course, one of the best things to do in Las Vegas is to visit the Hoover Dam. The original dam was built over a century ago, during the days of the great river flood of the west. This massive structure stands today, looking on proud in its place of old.
Clark County Museum features exhibits on local history and includes restored classic homes constructed a century ago by wealthy families in Grand Canyon country. Lion Habitat Ranch, a nature preserve along the Silverado River, is home to many large cats. To the southwest, Grand Lake Mead has beautiful hiking trails, while to the northwest, sprawling Lake Mead is home to an old stagecoach scene complete with stagecoaches and an electric railroad.
And of course, when you’re looking for the best things to do in Henderson NV, it’s also a good idea to check out what else is in the area. There are many great national parks in southern Nevada, such as the Wildflower Park, where you can spend a cool afternoon. Or if you’re a little more adventurous, you might try a day hike up Catalinas or up Mount Charleston, which offer scenic overlooks to the west. And don’t forget to take a stop at Lake Mead, which offers miles of breathtaking views, as well as a host of fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, and RV hookups.
